New Delhi: A shocking incident happened on Thursday evening in Jammu in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Gunshots were fired during a wedding function at Hotel Park in the Greater Kailash area, where many guests and political leaders had gathered.
Former Chief Minister and senior leader of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, was present at the wedding. At the same time, a man suddenly took out a pistol and opened fire. It is believed that the attacker tried to target Abdullah during the event.
Security guards at the venue quickly controlled the situation and caught the suspect on the spot. Police soon arrived and arrested the man. An investigation has started to find out why the attack happened.
During the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary was slightly injured after small pellet pieces hit him. Doctors said his injuries are minor and he is stable. Farooq Abdullah was not hurt in the firing and is safe.
