New Delhi: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has won the recent election in Bangladesh and is now ready to form the government. After coming to power, the party has made an important statement about former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A senior BNP leader, Salahuddin Ahmed, said that the new government will ask India to send Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh. He said that once she returns, she will face legal action and fight her case in court.
Ahmed also said that this issue will be officially raised with the Indian government. According to him, this is a matter between the two countries, and Bangladesh will try to resolve it through talks.
The BNP government will be formed under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. Earlier, during the caretaker government led by Muhammad Yunus, there were also demands to bring Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh.
So far, India has not given any official response to these statements. However, political experts believe that this issue could increase tensions between India and Bangladesh in the coming days.
