Mumbai: Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is facing a new legal problem. A court in Moradabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against her in an old cheque bounce case from 2017. The court took this step because she did not attend the recent hearing. She has now been told to appear in court on March 27.
The case was filed by an event organiser who said Ameesha was paid ₹11 lakh to attend a wedding event but did not come. He also claimed that she later asked for ₹2 lakh more. When the extra money was not given, she reportedly left without attending the event.
Ameesha has denied the claims. She said the issue is very old and was already settled years ago. According to her, a proper agreement was signed and the payment matter was closed. She also said that the new case is based on false claims.
The actress added that her lawyers will take action against the person who filed the complaint. For now, all eyes are on the next court date, where the matter will be heard again.
