Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said the party would like to see Uddhav Thackeray return to the Maharashtra legislature. His statement came while talking about the upcoming Legislative Council elections in the state.
Raut said Uddhav Thackeray had earlier worked as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and handled many difficult situations, including the COVID-19 crisis. He said Thackeray’s leadership helped the state during challenging times.
According to Raut, Uddhav Thackeray is still one of the strongest voices of the opposition in Maharashtra politics. Because of this, many leaders feel he should again become part of the state legislature.
However, Raut also said that this is only his personal opinion for now. The final decision will be taken by all parties in the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance after discussing the matter.
He added that once the Legislative Council election dates are announced, the alliance will sit together and decide the next step.
