New Delhi: Trinamool Congress has shared its election plan for West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called it “Didi’s 10 Promises” and said it focuses on helping people and protecting the state’s identity.
Voting will happen in two parts on April 23 and April 29. The results will be announced on May 4.
The party has promised more money support for women under the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme. Women from general category will get 1,500 every month, while SC/ST women will get 1,700. Unemployed youth will continue to get 1,500 per month under another scheme.
Farmers are also a big focus. The party plans a 30,000 crore budget for agriculture and says even landless farmers will get support. Every family is promised a permanent house and clean drinking water at home.
For health, the party wants to run medical camps every year so people can get treatment near their homes. In education, it plans to improve government schools.
The manifesto also talks about making Bengal a big trade center in eastern India by building better transport and business systems.
The party has promised to continue pension for elderly people and increase its reach. It also plans to create new districts for better administration.
During the announcement, Mamata Banerjee criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party and the central government. She said too much control from the center could harm the state. She also raised concerns about changes in officials before elections.
She asked people to stay united and said this election is important for the future.
