New Delhi: In a shocking case, an employee of the Indian Air Force has been arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive military information with Pakistan.
The accused, Sumit Kumar (36), was working as a civilian staff member at the Air Force base in Chabua. According to officials, he was passing confidential details about fighter aircraft and missile systems to Pakistani handlers in exchange for money.
The case came to light after a joint operation by Rajasthan Intelligence and Air Force Intelligence. Investigators said the roots of this espionage network were first discovered in January 2026 in Jaisalmer, when a suspect named Zabara Ram was arrested. During questioning, he revealed Sumit Kumar’s involvement.
After that, intelligence agencies kept a close watch on Sumit. Once they gathered enough evidence, he was detained from Chabua in Dibrugarh district and later taken to Jaipur for further investigation.
Officials believe this may be part of a larger spying network, and further inquiry is underway to identify others involved.
