Mumbai: The case of self-styled godman Ashok Kharat from Nashik had already shocked the state. He is accused of sexually abusing many women. Videos of his wrong acts with women went viral on social media. After this, many complaints were filed against him, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) started an inquiry.
Now, the case has become political. NCP (Sharad Pawar group) leader Rohit Pawar made a big claim about it.
Rohit Pawar said the case may not be limited to common people. He asked if videos of some political leaders are also involved. He demanded a fair and full investigation.
He said that everyone linked to the case should be investigated. He also claimed that some people might be trying to hide facts or stop certain videos from coming out. He added that the SIT should be used to bring out the truth, not to protect anyone.
He also accused the BJP and said such cases are sometimes used in politics.
Rohit Pawar also spoke about Kharat’s property. He said Kharat’s land should be sold and the money should be used for students’ education, and this should be done quickly.
He also made allegations about land deals linked to the Samruddhi Expressway. He said some political people may have known about the route earlier and bought land. He claimed that Kharat may have also benefited, while real farmers were against the project.
After these statements, the Nashik case has taken a new turn. Now, there are more demands for a wider SIT investigation and action against everyone involved.
