New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a man linked to the banned group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). His name is Shabbir Ahmed Lone, and he is said to be the main person behind the metro poster case.
Police say Lone was running the whole group and was in touch with other accused people. Now, security teams are questioning him to find out more details.
Early reports say he was trying to create a new terror group in India with help from Pakistan’s ISI. He was working from Bangladesh and planning an attack in India. He was caught near the Delhi border after police got secret information.
Police also found that anti-India posters were put up in many places from Delhi to Kolkata. These posters had messages about Kashmir and showed Burhan Wani.
The group used fake ID cards like Aadhaar to hide in India. They talked through secret apps and checked different places before planning attacks.
Lone was also arrested in 2007 with weapons, but later he got bail and ran away to Bangladesh. From there, he again started his work.
Police believe the group was planning a big attack, possibly on important places like the Red Fort. Because of quick action by police, a big danger has been stopped.
