Pune: A shocking incident from Nasrapur in Pune district has left the state in grief. A 4-year-old girl was brutally assaulted and murdered by a 65-year-old man, police confirmed.
According to officials, the child went missing while playing near her house. Her body was later found in a nearby area. During the investigation, police identified the accused through CCTV footage and arrested him within a few hours.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis strongly condemned the crime, calling it “extremely painful and shameful.” He said the accused should get the death penalty at the earliest and assured that the case will be handled in a fast-track court.
A case has been registered under strict sections, including the POCSO Act. Police said they are collecting all evidence to ensure strong punishment.
The incident has sparked anger among local residents, with protests demanding immediate justice for the victim. Authorities have increased security in the area to avoid any tension.
The case has once again raised serious concerns about child safety and the need for quick justice in such crimes.
