Pune: A big celebration was held today at Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A large number of people gathered to celebrate his birth anniversary with great joy and respect.
The fort was decorated with flowers and lights. Cultural programs, traditional music, and prayers were organised in the morning. Many people came wearing traditional clothes and carried saffron flags.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and Sunetra Pawar attended event. They paid tribute to Shivaji Maharaj and spoke about his bravery and leadership.
Police and local officials made special security arrangements because of the large crowd. Medical teams and volunteers were also present to help people.
Shivaji Maharaj was born on 19 February 1630 at Shivneri Fort. He is remembered as a brave king and the founder of the Maratha Empire. Even today, people celebrate his life and follow his values of courage, justice, and good governance. Across Maharashtra, many towns and cities also held rallies and cultural programs to honour the great warrior king.
