Nashik: In a very close and exciting final match, Nashik’s Harshvardhan Sadgir defeated Solapur’s Mahendra Gaikwad by 4–3 to win the famous Maharashtra Kesari wrestling title.
Both players gave a tough fight till the end. Harshvardhan, who won in the mat category, and Mahendra, who won in the mud category, faced each other in the final. The match was full of action, and the score remained close. In the end, Harshvardhan played smartly and won the match, lifting the Maharashtra Kesari trophy.
Before this, Mahendra Gaikwad reached the final by beating Sikandar Sheikh from Hingoli with an easy 3–0 win in the mud category. Mahendra started that match strongly and controlled the game from the beginning.
The Maharashtra Kesari competition is one of the biggest and most respected wrestling tournaments in Maharashtra. Every year, top wrestlers from different districts take part in it. Winning this title is a big achievement for any wrestler.
