Kanpur: A heartbreaking incident happened in Kanpur’s Bithoor area, where a newborn baby girl lost her life due to negligence at Raja Nursing Home. The baby was born to a woman named Shalu on Tuesday evening around 5 pm.
After delivery, nurses kept the baby in a warmer machine inside the ICU to keep her warm. But the staff did not properly check the machine. Because of this, the machine became too hot.
Due to the high heat, the baby suffered serious burns. Her condition became critical, and she died soon after.The family was happy as this was Arun Nishad’s first child. But their happiness turned into sorrow within a few hours. When relatives asked to see the baby, hospital staff avoided them. This made the family suspicious.
Later, family members entered the ICU and were shocked to see that the baby’s head and hands were badly burned.Police reached the hospital after getting information. Senior police officer S. M. Qasim Abidi said the baby’s body has been sent for post-mortem. The ICU of the hospital has been sealed, and the health department has been informed.
Police said strict action will be taken after the investigation. However, the hospital management claimed that it was an accident.
The baby’s death has left the family broken. Her grandmother and other relatives are crying in grief. The baby’s mother has not yet been told about her child’s death.The family has demanded immediate arrest of those responsible and cancellation of the hospital’s license.
