Mumbai: A major road accident happened on the Kalyan–Ahilyanagar highway in Maharashtra. The incident took place on Rayate bridge and has shocked everyone in the area.
A cement mixer truck and an Eeco car crashed into each other from the front. In this accident, 8 people in the Eeco car died on the spot. Some others were badly injured and are getting treatment in a nearby hospital.
What happened?
The Eeco car was carrying passengers from Kalyan to Murbad. The car is meant for only 5 people, but around 12 people were inside it. The car was moving fast when it hit the cement mixer truck coming from the opposite side on the bridge.
The crash was very strong, and the car was completely damaged.
Rescue work
People nearby heard the loud sound and quickly came to help. Police and highway teams also reached the spot soon. They took out the injured people from the car and sent them to the hospital.
About the victims
Among the dead, there are 5 men and 3 women. Their identities are not confirmed yet.
This accident has once again raised questions about overloading and illegal passenger transport.
