New Delhi: Work on India’s first bullet train tunnel is moving ahead quickly. The tunnel is 21 km long, and 5 km of it has already been dug using a special method called NATM.
Now, the digging part is done, and the next work has started inside the tunnel. Workers are building a drainage system to collect and remove any water that enters the tunnel.
To stop water from coming in, a protective waterproof layer is also being added using special machines.
Steel bars are being fixed inside the tunnel to make it strong. After that, a final layer of concrete will be added to give the tunnel a solid and smooth finish.
Special rooms are also being made inside the tunnel to keep important machines needed for running and maintaining the train.
All the work is happening step by step and as planned. The tunnel work is moving fast, and the government is trying to start the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train by the end of 2027. " give without # symbol
