New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has assured nation in the Lok Sabha that the safety of Indians living in West Asia is a top priority as tensions continue in the region.
Speaking in Parliament, the PM Modi said the government is closely monitoring the situation and is in constant touch with Indian citizens through embassies and official channels. He added that 24x7 helplines and advisory services have been activated to provide quick support to those in need.
Modi also mentioned that Indian embassies in countries affected by the conflict are working actively to guide citizens, share safety updates, and assist in emergencies. If required, the government is ready to take further steps, including evacuation operations, to bring Indians back home safely.
In recent years, India has carried out several large-scale rescue missions such as “Operation Ganga” during the Ukraine crisis and “Vande Bharat Mission” during the COVID-19 pandemic, showing its commitment to protecting citizens abroad.
The Ministry of External Affairs has also advised Indians in sensitive areas to stay alert, follow local guidelines, and remain connected with Indian missions for updates.
Overall, the government has reassured that every possible effort is being made to ensure the safety and well-being of Indians living overseas.
