Mumbai: India’s star batter Smriti Mandhana has created history in T20 cricket, earning the title of a true “T20 Queen.” The vice-captain of the Indian women’s team achieved a major milestone during the first T20 match against South Africa in Durban.
Even though she scored just 13 runs in that match, it was enough for her to break a long-standing record held by Rohit Sharma. With this, Mandhana has made her mark in global cricket.
Rohit Sharma, former captain of India’s men’s T20 team, had scored 4,231 runs in 159 matches. Mandhana has now gone past that number, reaching 4,244 runs in 161 matches.
With this achievement, Smriti Mandhana has become the highest run-scorer for India in T20 Internationals across both men’s and women’s cricket. This milestone highlights her consistency and growing dominance in the shorter format of the game.
