Mumbai: There is anger among people over the plan to divide the Scheduled Castes (SC) into smaller groups. Prakash Ambedkar, leader of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, has given a strong warning to the government on this issue.
Ambedkar said the government should first release the Justice Badar Committee report. He said people need to know how this decision was made and which communities were studied.

He warned that after Ambedkar Jayanti, people may protest. He asked the government to act carefully to avoid tension.
Ambedkar said this move may help some groups and leave others behind. He called it unfair and harmful for weaker communities.
He also said that only Parliament has the power to make changes in SC categories. He mentioned that the Supreme Court of India has allowed subclassification, but it should be done properly.
Against the Committee
Ambedkar said he will continue to oppose the committee. He claimed that experts and common people were not included in the study.
He finally said the government should take the right decision, or else people’s anger may increase.
