Panaji, 21 February 2026: The Government of Goa continued its focus on strengthening the State’s administrative framework as Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant personally handed over appointment letters to newly recruited Assistant State Tax Officers and State Tax Inspectors of the Commercial Taxes Department at Mantralaya, Porvorim, reinforcing its commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment.
The selection was conducted through the Goa Staff Selection Commission, reflecting a transparent, timely and merit-based approach to public appointments. The induction of these officers is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and improve responsiveness within the Commercial Taxes Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “This recruitment reflects our commitment to a transparent and merit-based selection process through the Goa Staff Selection Commission.” He further added, “I expect all newly appointed officers to work with integrity, ensure prompt service to citizens, and contribute towards strengthening people-centric governance.”
The programme was attended by the Chief Secretary, officials from the Home, Finance and Commercial Taxes Departments, and other senior officers.
