Jalna: A very sad road accident happened late at night on the Jintur–Jalna highway. Four young men lost their lives, and two others were badly injured.
Six friends from Gangakhed were going to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh to visit the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple. They were travelling in an Ertiga car. Around 12:15 am, when they reached the Akoli river bridge near Jintur, the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle was moving at high speed and hit a cement beam on the bridge.
The crash was very strong. The front part of the car was completely damaged. Four friends died on the spot. They have been identified as Rohan Rathod (28), Balaji Oti (26), Abhijit Shingade (27), and Balaji Ghorpade (28). All of them were from the Gangakhed area.
Two others, including Ganesh Rokade, were seriously hurt. They were first taken to the government hospital in Jintur and later shifted for further treatment.
After hearing the loud sound, local people and police reached the spot. The car was badly crushed, and it took time to remove the bodies. A crane was used to clear the road and restart traffic.
Police said that the accident happened because the driver lost control of the car. A case has been registered, and further investigation is going on.
The news of the accident has left the entire Gangakhed area in deep shock and sadness.
