Nagpur: After the recent municipal elections in the state, new mayors have taken charge in many cities. With this, the administrative rule that started during the COVID period has finally ended. At the same time, the state government has started transferring several senior officers.
In this process, the Municipal Commissioner of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has been changed. Dr Abhijit Chaudhari has been transferred from Nagpur and posted to Pune.
After his transfer, Dr Vipin Itankar was given the additional charge of the commissioner’s post. Now the government has officially appointed him as the new Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur. He will also continue to work as the District Collector of Nagpur until further orders.
Dr Vipin Itankar is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service. Before joining the civil services, he completed his MBBS and worked as a doctor. He cleared the exam of the Union Public Service Commission and joined the IAS in the 2014 batch. He has worked in important posts in different districts of Maharashtra and earlier also served as the District Collector of Chandrapur.
