New Delhi: In a big relief in the Delhi liquor policy case, the Rouse Avenue Court has cleared former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia of all charges. The court said there was not enough strong evidence to prove the allegations against them.
The judge explained that accusations alone cannot be accepted without proper proof. According to the court, the investigating agencies could not present convincing evidence. Earlier, former Excise Commissioner Kuldeep Singh was also cleared in the same case, after which Sisodia and then Kejriwal were given relief.
After the verdict, Kejriwal said that truth has won and that he always trusted the country’s justice system. He thanked the court and said the case against him was false. He also claimed that the action was politically motivated and aimed at weakening the Aam Aadmi Party.
Kejriwal said he has always worked honestly in public life and that the court’s decision has proved his innocence. He added that he and his party will continue working for the people.
