New Delhi: Indian National Congress has been told to vacate its old main office at 24 Akbar Road by March 28. The party also has to leave its Youth Congress office at 5 Raisina Road.
This order was given by the central government’s property department. Because of this, there is a lot of discussion in politics.
The Akbar Road office has been the main place for Congress work for about 48 years. Recently, the party opened a new office called Indira Bhawan, but it has not fully shifted there yet.
The government says the party was already given enough time to move out. Rules say political parties should not keep using government buildings for too long.
Now, Congress may go to court or ask for more time.This issue can turn into a bigger political fight in the coming days.
