New Delhi: A tense situation was seen at the AI Impact Summit being held at Bharat Mandapam after some members of the Indian Youth Congress entered the venue by crossing the security area.
The protesters shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held banners near the main event hall. Many international guests and delegates were present at the time. Security staff quickly controlled the situation and removed the protesters from inside the premises.
Officials from Delhi Police said around 10 people were involved in the protest, and a few of them were taken into custody. Police said the group had entered using QR-code entry passes. Those detained were taken to Tilak Marg police station, and an inquiry has started to check how they managed to get inside despite tight security.
The incident also triggered a political reaction. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Malviya criticized the protest and blamed the Indian National Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, saying such protests during an international event could damage India’s image.
The AI summit has brought together leaders, technology experts, companies, and policymakers from many countries to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and global cooperation in technology.
