Mumbai: Rohit Pawar, an MLA from the Sharad Pawar group, has received a phone call from the Chief Minister’s Office while he continues to demand an investigation into the plane crash of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Rohit Pawar has been saying that the crash may not be an accident and needs a proper inquiry.
On Wednesday, he went to a Mumbai police station to file a complaint against the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Police officials did not accept the FIR, which led to an argument between Pawar and the officers.
Later, reports said the call from the CM Office was not about the police complaint. Sources claim it was related to the proposal of building a memorial for Ajit Pawar. Rohit Pawar had earlier asked the government to build memorials in Baramati and at a government residence in Mumbai. The discussion was reportedly about including funds for this project in the state budget.
Meanwhile, Rohit Pawar is expected to visit the Baramati Taluka Police Station to again submit a complaint against the DGCA. Leaders and workers of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have gathered outside the police station. After Mumbai Police refused to register the FIR earlier, all eyes are now on whether Baramati Police will accept the complaint. The party has also planned a press conference on the issue.
