New Delhi: The fight between Iran and the United States has stopped for now. Both countries have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, meaning no attacks during this time.
Donald Trump said the US will pause its military actions. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also confirmed that Iran has agreed to stop fighting for now.
Both sides will meet on April 10 in Islamabad, in Pakistan, to talk and try to solve the issue peacefully. China and Pakistan helped bring both sides to this agreement.
The US asked Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, an important sea route for oil. Iran has agreed to this.
Pakistan reactsPakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed this step and said it is a good move towards peace.
For now, fighting has stopped for two weeks. If talks go well, there could be a long-term peace deal.
