New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday made serious claims against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. He said Gogoi has close ties with his British wife Elizabeth Colburn and a Pakistani citizen, Ali Tauqeer Sheikh.
At a press meet before the Assam Assembly elections, Sarma said secret information from India’s Intelligence Bureau was passed to a neighbouring country. He claimed this happened through personal connections.
Sarma also said that while Elizabeth Colburn was working in India, she received money from Ali Tauqeer Sheikh. He claimed this may have broken India’s foreign funding law.
The Chief Minister further said that Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan secretly in 2013 and may have taken special training there. He asked Gogoi to explain this visit.
Sarma warned that if Gogoi does not give clear answers, serious legal action could be taken.
