Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar attended a cleanliness event in Mumbai organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The event was led by BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
At the event, he answered questions about pollution, gas shortage, and a viral song.
His simple message on pollution
When asked about Mumbai’s air quality (AQI), Akshay said we should not only look at problems. He explained that if many things are working well, we should not focus only on one issue.
Officials also said pollution has slightly improved in the past few days.
His reaction on LPG shortage
Because of tensions between Iran and Israel, gas supply has been affected. Akshay gave a practical answer. He said his wife Twinkle Khanna has ordered induction stoves, showing how people are finding other options.
No comment on viral song
When asked about a controversial song featuring Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, Akshay refused to comment. He said it was not related to the event.
What is Mumbai Clean League?
The “Mumbai Clean League” is a new campaign to keep the city clean. People, groups, and organisations can take part, share photos, and win rewards.
Akshay said the idea is inspired by the Indian Premier League (IPL). He added that citizens should also take responsibility for keeping Mumbai clean.
